Looking west, towards Altrincham and Eccles, from Cornbrook stop. On the right is the Manchester-bound track from Altrincham—the Eccles line joins this track further along. To the left, on the same alignment, is the Altrincham-bound track, while to the left of this the Eccles line branches off to cross over the Altrincham tracks. On the far left are the two Network Rail tracks on the line between Manchester and Liverpool via Warrington. This line is electrified for freight trains running onto the Trafford Park container terminal branch
