Metrolink : Pictures : stop at Victoria

Victoria station, looking across the concourse to where the Metrolink tracks enter the station. The large brick wall was a stipulation of British Rail, who were apparently afraid that one of the Metrolink units might derail and crash into a train; similarly on the exit from the station heading towards Bury, the supports of the Cheetham Hill Road bridge on either side of the Metrolink tracks are encased in concrete lest a tram leave the rails and bring the bridge down
