Looking down Wellesley Road from the Station Road junction, towards Wellesley Road tram stop and East Croydon station. The single tram line runs along the central reservation of the dual carriageway. The 'Mn rail' sign signifies the end of a section of Manganese Steel alloy rail; this material is harder-wearing than steel but non-magnetic, meaning track brakes are not as effective, consequently braking distances are increased
