Docklands Light Railway : Pictures : Bank route at Tower Gateway

Looking east from Tower Gateway, towards Shadwell and the Isle of Dogs. In the distance the line from Bank ramps up from the tunnel portal to join the Tower Gateway; on the left is the mainline railway into London Fenchurch Street. The concrete track base in the foreground reveals that there were originally crossovers on the approach to the platforms—construction of the Bank extension rendered these unecessary as the Tower Gateway line narrows to single track just before the junction with the Bank tracks
