The reversing sidings beyond the Metrolink platforms at Piccadilly. Trams use these crossovers and sidings to transfer from the arrival platform to the departure platform. A future extension to Ashton-under-Lyne would make use of these tracks, with the line leaving the station undercroft where the light can be seen in the background
