Parallel railway viaducts at Castlefields. The nearest to the camera is the mainline railway viaduct which carries the line from Liverpool via Irlam through Deansgate station; behind that, at a higher level, is the Metrolink (former Cheshire Lines Committee, Manchester Central route) viaduct, with the roof of a Metrolink tram just visible; next to that (not visible in this picture) is the former Great Northern Railway viaduct, now disused. The waterway is the Bridgewater Canal, with the entrance to Castlefields Basin
