On 2nd April 2006, all NET tram services were suspended while engineering work was carried out at a number of locations. Work included the removal of the footbridge at David Lane, which spanned the adjacent Network Rail tracks, and repair work on damaged overhead line equipment at Basford.
I didn't manage to get any pictures of the removal of the David Lane bridge, but here are some before and after shots at this location, along with some pictures of the work at Basford, which used men and machinery from Sheffield Supertram, and of the replacement bus service.
