Between 21st May and 4th June 2005, NET carried out rail grinding on the off-street sections of track north of Wilkinson Street. A Schweerbau rail grinding unit was used, which was transported by road from Germany. These pictures were taken before grinding began, and on the second night of work between Moor Bridge and Bulwell Forest.
Similar work was carried out on the on-street sections in 2003—follow this link for pictures on Stephen Dees NETTrams.net site. A similar rail grinder (possibly the same unit) was used in Croydon in 2004—follow this link for pictures on Stephen Parascandolos Croydon Tramlink site.
