Centrale is at the rear of the shopping centre of the same name, on Tamworth Road on the town centre loop. There is a single platform, which is immediately alongside a bus stop.
The complicated history behind what should be the simple task of adding a tram stop at this point has been documented in detail on Stephen Parascandolo's website, but in short, the stop's opening was to have waited until an additional tram has been purchased to maintain the current service frequency. The stop is now open under the existing timetable, but a new timetable with an extra diagram will commence in the new year and a new tram is still being sought.

Centrale stop, looking in the West Croydon direction, on the stop's opening day. The newly installed ticket machine was not working, so Tramlink staff were on hand to issue tickets as well as give information about the stop's new services. 2553 is seen after departure but waiting for signal clearance at the pedestrian crossing immediately beyond the stop. In the background is the rear entrance of the Centrale shopping centre
