Fitzalan Square is one of the city centre stops, and is on the section of tram-only street running that extends to Cathedral. The stop serves the shopping areas around Fitzalan Square, and the Ponds Forge International Sports Centre.
On leaving the stop for Meadowhall or Halfway/Herdings Park, trams cross the Commercial Street bridge to reach the triangle junction in the centre of the Park Square roundabout.
