At Altrincham Metrolink shares the station with National Rail services. Trams use two terminal platforms, formerly used by the British Rail electric services to Oxford Road and beyond, while National Rail services between Manchester Piccadilly and Chester use the two through platforms. There is a shared booking hall and manned ticket office, in addition to the usual ticket vending machines.
