Dane Road is on the former Manchester–Altrincham railway line. The street-level booking hall survives but no longer serves any railway purpose. This stop is the interchange for an express bus service to the Trafford Centre, a large shopping centre in the Trafford Park industrial area.

Street-level former booking office at Stretford. The right-hand half of the building is used as a mini-cab office, but the rest of the structure no longer has a purpose

One of the possible Phase Three extensions is to the Trafford Centre, a large shopping centre on the edge of Trafford Park. Until it is built, a bus shuttle service operates from Stretford stop. The bus is operated by Arriva, whose standard livery is coincidentally similar to Metrolink's
