Heron Quays first opened in 1987 as part of the original DLR system, but closed in September 2001 and was rebuilt to its current layout. The new station opened in December 2002 and now consists of 2 platforms long enough to take 3-unit trains, on a viaduct which is integrated into the Lehman Brothers building.
Heron Quays is conveneint for interchange with the Jubilee Line station at Canary Wharf - more so than Canary Wharf DLR.
