West India Quay is located on new-build viaduct next to what was West India Dock (Import), at the northern edge of the redeveloped Docklands area. When the station originally opened in 1987, it consisted of 2 platforms long enough for a single unit. It closed in November 1991, and reopened in June 1993 with four platforms.
